Regina Sacratisimi Rosarii

Here is a short history why we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary.

The Feast day of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. was instituted by Pope St. Pius V in commemoration of the victory at Lepanto against the Mohammedans Turks in 1571, actually it was called Feast day of our Lady of Victories, but it was later change by Pope Gregory XII to its present Title since it was through the intercession of the Most Holy Rosary that Christians became victorious. later on it was extended to the whole of Christendom by Pope Clement XII, after Prince Eugene won the battle against Turks in 1716, lastly Pope Leo XII raised the Feast to the rank of a double of a second class, and inserted the Title "Queen of the Most Holy Rosary" to the Litany of Blessed Virgin.
